The Purdue Soils Invitational was held this past Saturday (September 6th) at the Beck’s research farm. Although it was really wet and muddy the contestants improved their soil knowledge. There were many chapters with dedicated members that came to compete. The contest consisted of four different pits in various locations. After the contestants were done they were able to go back through and discuss the characteristics of the pits. Along with judging different types of soil, the members gained new friendships along the way.
